WE HAVE THE PLACE
The Turning Point Program is a 20 bed residential program housed in the Maxwell Meighen Centre at 135 Sherbourne Street, Toronto, Ontario.
WE HAVE THE PROGRAM
We do not treat a disease at the Centre. We treat a person with a disease. We recognize alcohol and chemical addiction as a disease which can only be helped by total abstinence from all mood altering chemicals. Alcohol and mood altering drugs cause social, psychological, spiritual, moral and emotional damage. However, through a disciplined and structured recovery program, the addict can learn to live without alcohol or chemicals.
Recovery from addiction requires a change of life. All new clients are interviewed and needs are thus identified and become part of the client’s treatment plan.
The Turning Point program is structured around a series of organized activities which include: personal counselling, group therapy, Twelve Step classes, work therapies, Relapse prevention, Chapel Services, recreational and social activities and leisure time, under the guidance of experienced counsellors.
WE SHARE THE POWER
We believe the consumer can choose change supported in a safe environment in which the client is assisted by trained Counsellors in a Twelve Step Program which includes spiritual, social, psychological, biological and emotional help.
We share a vision; that in the Power of God, consumers can find courage, hope and a future which is best be described as “new”, as change becomes reality.
